St. Finbarr’s Cemetery Annual Prayer Service
Parish visit to St.Finbarr’s Cemetery, 6th November @ 2.30pm
The Annual Prayer Service for the Holy Souls will be held at St. Finbarr’s Cemetery, Glasheen Road, Cork
Included will be prayers at the I.S.A.N.D. plot (Irish Stillborn and Neonatal Death Society).
You are invited to come and pray for your loved ones who are buried in the cemetery.
It is not commonly known but there is a section of St. Finbarr’s cemetery called the “The Poor Ground’ where destitute people who died were buried, but given no headstone. The practice no longer continues, but on our visit on the 6th November it would be good visit the area and to spend a moment and reflect on all who are buried there, and to recall people today who die in lonely circumstances whether through poverty or despair or suicide.
