MAKING SENSE OF THE SECOND READING.
During Ordinary Time the Second Reading of the Mass is generally taken from the letters of St. Paul and they are read in a semi continuous way over a few weeks.
Today our second reading is from Paul’s letter to the Thessalonians. What follows are a few questions which might help to find some personal meaning in the passage for today.
POINTERS FOR PRAYER
- Not all have faith: reflect on your own times of “unfaith” — how did it happen? How did you emerge from it? What does faith mean to you today?
- “Heart” in our reading points to our deepest inner selves. What is my own heartfelt need of encouragement, endurance and direction?
