MAKING SENSE OF THE SECOND READING.

During Ordinary Time the Second Reading of the Mass is generally taken from the letters of St. Paul and they are read in a semi continuous way over a few weeks.

Today our second reading is from Paul’s letter to the Thessalonians.  What      follows are a few questions which might help to find some personal meaning in the passage for today.

POINTERS FOR PRAYER

  1. Not all have faith: reflect on your own times of “unfaith” — how did it happen? How did you emerge from it? What does faith mean to you today?
  2. “Heart” in our reading points to our deepest inner selves. What is my own heartfelt need of encouragement, endurance and direction?
